Fresh Gulf Oysters

Want fresh oysters for Thanksgiving? ORDER EARLY!! That's all I can say.

 

Thanksgiving orders for shell and shucked oysters must be in by Thursday,

November 15th by 5 PM. They'll be in the shop on Tuesday, November 20th.

We will have spares, that will go first-come, first-serve.


Floyd's prides ourselves in having the nicest, freshest, juiciest Gulf of Mexico shell

and shucked oysters in the South. Floyd's has sold top quality Nelson's brand

oysters from Bon Secour Fisheries in Alabama and other sources for over 35

years. All our oysters are safe and certified and come from licensed producers in

AL, LA and TX. They come with tags that show when and where they came out of

the water and we keep these health tags on file for 90 days by law.

 

Our oysters are NEVER frozen and NEVER imported.

 

Larry is our in-house oyster Quality Control Monitor,he checks each batch that

comes in for juiciness, flavor and quality. (Quit eating all the oysters, Larry, leave

us some to sell, darn it!) Larry also gives FREE oyster shucking (opening a shell

oyster) instructions if you need to learn how.

Peak time to get the BEST oysters is Thanksgiving thru Fathers Day, when the

 

WHERE THEY COME FROM

We get our fresh oysters from Louisiana, Texas and Alabama.

 

WHEN WE GET THEM

Shipments come in two times per week: Wednesdays and Fridays.

 

WHAT WE GET

We get fresh oysters in the shell by the box.

We get fresh shucked oysters in their own juice in gallon containers.

 

HOW WE SELL THEM

We sell shucked oysters by the half pint, pint, quart, half gallon or gallon. We sell

shell oysters by the single oyster, dozen or by the full box. Boxes weigh 35 pounds

and contain between 6 and 9 dozen oysters in the shell, depending on their size.

Boxes are filled by weight, not number. Boxes are filled down on the Gulf and

shipped to us.

 

HOW TO ORDER OYSTERS

If you want fresh oysters on Wednesday or Thursday, you must order by 2 PM on

Tuesday. If you want fresh oysters on Friday or Saturday, you must order by 2 PM

on Thursday. Please order in advance to be guaranteed to have oysters for your

weekend parties. We keep extra fresh oysters on hand that we sell first come, first

 

serve, but keep in mind, they come from the Gulf and have to be brought in 2 times

per week, so when they're gone, they're gone!
